Question of the Week?

Question:

What is Mesothelioma?

Answer:

Mesothelioma: A malignant tumor of the mesothelium. The mesothelium is the thin lining on the surface of the body cavities and the organs that are contained within them. Most mesotheliomas begin as one or more nodules that progressively grow to form a solid coating of tumor surrounding the lung, abdominal organs, or heart.

Mesothelioma most commonly occurs in the chest cavity and is associated with exposure to asbestos in up to 90% of cases. It has been shown that some asbestos fibers that are inhaled quickly work their way through the lung tissue and into the chest (pleural) cavity. Asbestos fibers that are swallowed have been shown to penetrate the wall of the intestine and appear in the abdominal (peritoneal) cavity.

The risk of mesothelioma increases with the intensity and duration of exposure to asbestos. It is debatable whether or not there is any safe exposure level. Mesothelioma typically does not occur for 20 to 50 years following exposure to asbestos. Some forms of asbestos, particularly crocidolite fibers, are more likely to cause mesotheliomas. There is also evidence that mesotheliomas may be caused by other agents including radiation, viruses, and man-made mineral fibers. There is no relationship to smoking.

Mesothelioma is currently difficult to treat in most cases and survival beyond two years is unusual.

Truth, Ties and Trauma
K

When you cheat, you would only be regretful one you are caught. When you cheat, you don't think of learning but GRADES. When you cheat, you'll do it again. When you cheat, YOU FEEL RELAXED EVEN IF YOU SINNED. When you cheat, you blame others or anything else but YOU. When you cheat, you still pray, right? When you cheat, you still have the guts to laugh. When you cheat, you're just guilty for a second then you'd do the same when the "NEED" arises.

And I know that YOU, are one of THEM. I am speaking of the truth and not through hypocrisy. And I want to change my fault point. And I am blogging this to instill in your minds the right thing to do. I AM A CHEATER ANG I AM NOT PROUD OF IT.

We always say that the trauma hurts more than the truth. But we don't know that it's quite the opposite. We often blame something else because of our failures. Things like fairness, parity, equality and other similar words. But don't you know that the fairness you want is WRONG? The truth is, there is no fairness in this world. Only God can give us true fairness. All people have biases. If we don't, there are no winners and losers.

The fairness you want is wrong. You want to be fair to the other one at all things: attention, impression, grades and reputation, which is totally wrong! We can only be fair to others if we are fair to ourselves. We should not cheat to get a FAIR SCORE. We should always give a FAIR FIGHT. Wrong view of fairness would cause fire.

If you think that you are deprived and underpriviledged than the other one, you should try your TRUE BEST to get the BIAS of the teachers. I once belonged to a so called SECOND SECTION of the SSC when I was in third year high school. Did I stop? Did I fail? Did I mind others? Did we, as a section, lose hope to excel despite our SECTION DISCRIMINATION?

No.

DO try to BE FAIR, not to GET FAIR. You are hurting us, especially me, when I saw your article. It was like we were not comrades. It was like there's an unhealthy competition in which only you are participating. It was really like blaming us for your fault. You didn't realize it, do you? Of course not.

One more thing. When you cheat, you lose confidence within you. It's like you feel so dependent to others. I once doubted my own knowledge when I plunged into cheating. And you would have a different disposition after the exam because of what you did.

One for all, and all for one. I always hear this stuff. But where is this when we are caught? Remember what I wrote:
When you cheat, you blame others or anything else but YOU. Where is the camaraderie? Where is the fairness? Hmmm?

I don't want to start a fight. I'm here to end it before it starts.

If we continue this, then we are not the GREAT BATCH, nor the GREATER, nor the GREATEST, not even GOOD nor BETTER nor BEST. Be convicted in yourself. Maawa naman tayo sa mga hindi nandadaya sa pasulit na nadadamay lang sa atin.

We are the WORST BATCH for now, for me. And I don't want it to end up like this.

I'm gonna make my move now. And like I always say. himuun nako ang tanan para DILI MAGMAHAY ANG MANGGA SA ATO.

Peace.

Habit...

A need to be conscious of it,

And if a person does not want to get rid of it

Then it cannot be gotten rid of.

Read, Reflect and Follow

An Angel says, 'Never borrow from the future. If you worry about what may happen tomorrow and it doesn't happen, you have worried in vain. Even if it does happen, you have to worry twice.'

1.Pray

2. Go to bed on time

3. Get up on time so you can start the day unrushed.

4. Say No to projects that won't fit into your time schedule or that will compromise your mental ealth.

5. Delegate tasks to capable others.

6. Simplify and unclutter your life.

7. Less is more. (Although one is often not enough, two are often too many..)

8. Allow extra time to do things and to get to places.

9. Pace yourself. Spread out big changes and difficult projects over time; don't lump the hard things all together..

10. Take one day at a time.

11. Separate worries from concerns. If a situation is a concern, find out what God would have you do and let go of the anxiety. If you can't do anything about a situation, forget it.

12. Live within your budget; don't use credit cards for ordinary purchases.

13. Have backups; an extra car key in your wallet, an extra house key buried in the garden, extra stamps, etc..

14 .. Do something for the Kid in You everyday.

15 . Carry a Bible with you to read while waiting in line.

16 . Get enough rest.

17 . Eat right.

18. Get organized so everything has its place.

19. Listen to a tape while driving that can help improve your quality of life.

20 . Write down thoughts and inspirations.

21 . Every day, find time to be alone.

22 . Having problems? Talk to God on the spot. Try to nip small problems in the bud.Don't wait until it's time to go to bed to try and pray.

23 . Make friends with Godly people.

24. Keep a folder of favorite scriptures on hand.

25 . Remember that the shortest bridge between despair and hope is often a good 'Thank you Jesus .'

26 .. Laugh.

27 . Laugh some more!

28. Take your work seriously, but not yourself at all.

29 . Develop a forgiving attitude (most people are doing the best they can).

30. Be kind to unkind people (they probably need it the most).

31 . Sit on your ego.

32 . Talk less; listen more.

33. Slow down.

34 . Remind yourself that you are not the general manager of the universe.

35 . Every night before bed, think of one thing you're grateful for that you've never been grateful for before. GOD HAS A WAY OF TURNING THINGS AROUND FOR YOU.

The Truth - An Open Leter Sent to Mr. Ernie L Babuena

The TRUTH
An Open Letter Send to Mr. Ernie L. Balbuena

Honestly speaking, we feel that we are ALONE, there are many of us but we still are alone. We are in NEED, badly in need of understanding and strength to withstand all of these things that are pulling us down; somebody to hear our thoughts, and at least try to understand us.

A lot of people are talking our actions the wrong way. They will never understand how we feel. If everything that we are talking about discrimination is just in the state of mind, then how can it be so real? We are neither blind, nor deaf and not even insensitive for us to not to feel that we are being deprived and underprivileged. We know that some of you are trying, but the feeling of depression wouldn’t leave our blood and is always running through our veins.

We too are trying, no, not only trying but doing our best to BELONG and at the same time, ironically, trying to accept what we are. Be contented, and instead of comparing ourselves with others, we just need to do our best to excel in our own way. We know very well where to stand; we are very much aware of our status. Nevertheless, we are still student’s belongings to the special science curriculum as well and we DESERVE to be treated equally. It doesn’t really have to matter, but this kind of issue seems to be a very big deal, not only for us but for everybody as well.

We are pleading that this inequity no longer be practiced and that the gap between both classes be bridged. You cannot deny that partiality is going on. Please be honest with us. We ought not to accuse you of anything; rather, we are asking for you to lean us some ears, hear our plea and consider our point of view. If we are having wrong beliefs, then please clear up our minds. We know that we are still learning and that we have to pay attention to your morals. Compared to your experiences, we still have a long way to go. But please do take time and give us the chance to speak out minds.

Don’t take this the wrong way. By the time being, we are uncertain and confused about the things that we have done wrong. We are not to blame for our misconduct, it’s the peer pressure that’s driving us to do bad things and forget about who we really are.

Our environment has a great impact on us; our section, the talks of people, the old practices and the treatment upon us. You may think that we are only over acting but it’s the reality. This is the everyday situation that we are dealing with. We try to convince ourselves that it’s not happening and that everything is okay, but it always ends up the other way around. These scenarios seem to build up in our minds making us bitter and envious. Just try to put your feet on our shoes, and maybe then you’ll understand how we feel and why we feel that way.

It is our fault that we have let ourselves be in this situation and we admit that we have done wrong. We deeply and sincerely are truly sorry for that. Asking for FORGIVENESS, like what you’ve always said would never be enough to erase our wrongdoings, but the fact that we are aware of our misdeeds and are trying everything that we can to change, we think that we deserve a second chance. And only you can grant us that. It may be too much to ask but we believe that you still have the heart for forgiveness. We are thankful that we still have somebody who would teach us and make us realize that our EGO has gone too far and that it is not yet too late to come back to our sanities.

What we are sking for and need the most is your appreciation and understanding for us. We are all praying that these things will soon be fine and over. We are on for a CHANGE. We will start it with ourselves, but we need you the most to make all of these happen, for we are still and always be hopeful for the betterment.

Reply to this letter:

“The LORD hates anyone who cheats, but he likes everyone who is honest. Too much pride can put you to shame. It’s wiser to be humble. If you do the right thing, honesty will be your guide. But if you are crooked, you will be trapped by your own dishonesty.”

Proverbs 11: 1-3

My child, don't turn away or become bitter when the LORD corrects you. The LORD corrects everyone he loves, just as parents correct their favorite child.

Flowcharting- Defined

Flowcharting defined as using symbols and phrases to designate the logic of how a problem is solved. It a common method for defining the logical steps of flow within a program by using a series of symbols to identify the basic input, output and output function within a program.
